A virtual commissioning based methodology to integrate digital twins into manufacturing systems

Abstract Digital Twin (DT) is considered a key approach to enhance the system reactivity uncertain events due its ability getting data from field and triggering actions on physical asset. Given modern technological rapidly changing work environment, it likely that in next years companies will need retrofit their manufacturing systems by integrating DTs. In this context, fundamental define necessary steps for development of DTs integration into through DT architecture. response issue, methodology based Virtual Commissioning proposed. A stepwise illustrated which designed, integrated verified using virtual environment. The validated flow shop implementation scheduling reactive machine breakdown. By following proposed methodology, architecture able improve makespan studied developed, suggesting potential applicability industrial systems.
